It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Hak, a coach, mentor, and friend, whose impact on the Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association (RMHA) and the wider hockey community will never be forgotten. Martin’s dedication to the sport and his unwavering belief in his players made him a pillar of the program for over a decade.
Martin was a beloved coach who worked with athletes from their first steps on the ice all the way through to the U21 teams. His commitment to helping players develop not only their hockey skills but also their character left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of working with him. In recent seasons, Martin took on the role of Head Coach for the Mission Outlaws, continuing to guide and inspire many Rustlers alumni. His coaching style was defined by his belief in the potential of each player, and he pushed them to be their best, both on and off the ice.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Martin was known for his genuine care for the players he mentored. He formed strong bonds with athletes, their families, and fellow coaches, and his influence extended far beyond the rink. Martin was a person who made a difference in the lives of many, and his legacy will continue to inspire the community he helped shape.
Our hearts go out to Martin’s family, the Mission Outlaws, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. We encourage all those affected by this loss to lean on each other and remember that support is here. Martin will be missed deeply, but he will always be remembered for the profound impact he had on those around him.
Rest in peace, Martin. Your legacy will live on. 🕊️💔
